AMV Contest Rules
It is important to note that there will be two separate contests: the main contest, and an adult (18+) contest. Here are the rules for each:
Main Contest
- The deadline for all AMV entries is May 21st, 2010. AMVs received after this date will not be entered into the contest.
- You will need to classify your AMV as one of the following categories: Drama, Comedy, Action, Adult
- The main contest (Drama, Comedy, and Action) is a PG-13 rated event.
- All AMVs that are submitted will be reviewed to ensure that they are appropriate for this contest.
- If you have any questions regarding the rating of your video, the coordinator can help you determine whether it would be suitable for this contest or the adult contest.
- You may enter a maximum of two videos, but each must be entered into seperate categories.
- Example A: One AMV in Comedy, and the other in Action
- Example B: One AMV in Drama, and the other Adult
- Regarding the length of your video, please just use common sense. Most songs last between 2.5 to 6 minutes.
- Subtitles will only be allowed under certain circumstances (e.g. they cannot be removed without distorting the whole of the video).
- Please avoid or remove all watermarks (i.e. Cartoon Network, Sci-fi, studio logos, etc.). If you are having issues with this, try searching through another source or speak with the coordinator. =)
- Parental Advisory music will not be allowed in this contest. Please use 'clean' or 'radio edit' versions, else enter your AMV in the Adult contest.
- Be sure to make backups of your AMVs onto discs, flashdrives, or other media. Computer glitches and crashing hard drives are an AMV's worst nightmare.
- If ANY changes need to be made (format, glitches, subtitles, ect.), you will be informed and asked to make the changes. Coordinator will not make any changes to your video on your behalf.
- All questions should be directed to the AMV coordinator (

).
Adult Category/Contest
- The rules for the Adult AMV Contest include all of the rules for the Main AMV Contest.
- This contest is for AMVs with excessive blood, language, violence, gore, etc.
- The winners of the Adult Category will not be shown to the convention with the other category winners.
- Even though it's the 'adult' contest, any Hentai/nudity will disqualify your AMV without exception.
- Music that contains mature lyrics and content (drugs, sex, etc.) will only be allowed in the adult contest.
- Not all 'adult' AMVs have to be gory, violent, or obscene. If you believe that a younger audience won't be able to understand your video, you may request it to be entered as "Adult".
Judging
We will have a panel of judges to decide the best videos from each of the four categories, based on originality, theme, and quality. In addition to these judges, we invite all attendees to come and enjoy the AMV contest. The audience will be asked to vote for their choice for the Crowd Favorite award. Forms with each entry/category will be passed out at the contest. Prizes will be awarded to the winners of each of the four categories.
